php[tek] is a conference meant for working professionals to continue their education and stay on top of today's best practices.
We encourage our attendees to make Monday and Friday travel days, come out early on Monday and work from the venue. You will find other attendees doing the same thing and it's a great way to start the networking. Talking to others while working can give you access to some amazing conversations and a change to learn something new. Same for Friday, continue your networking and conversations before your flight on Friday evening.
These are of course just recommendations, but when trying to convince management to send you to a conference, giving reasons beyond the conference talks can be helpful.
After I attended my first conference at php[tek] in 2010, I had a group of people that I would often reach out to on Twitter and IRC for help when I was stuck. I knew who I could talk to about various topics and it changed how I coded for the better.
Join us May 20-22, 2025 for another amazing php[tek]!
